I see today is the anniversary of the death of Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, Pope John XXIII (the second one, not the first<\/a>\u2026)<\/p>\n

A good man, no doubt. The pope of my childhood, the one protestants liked.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a little tidbit from Bishop Fulton Sheen. (Whom I once met. But that\u2019s another story)<\/p>\n<\/iframe>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qblRi2Q1Y_8\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Go here<\/a> for a lovely clip on John\u2019s actions during the war. It doesn\u2019t mention how <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raoulwallenberg.net\/?en\/press\/pope-john-xxiii-jews.1709.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">he actually forged baptismal documents<\/a> to help thousands of Jews escape.
