Today is the feast<\/a> <\/span>of the blessed Brigid, goddess of old Ireland, Christianized by the Roman church, and rather nicely, I think.<\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/p>\n Brigid was the goddess of poetry. And last year <a href=\"http:\/\/quakerpagan.blogspot.com\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Quaker Pagan<\/a> honored the occasion by posting something by Walt Whitman. How can I pass up the Irish and Unitarian poetic mishmash?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/p>\nAnd, so I won\u2019t\u2026<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/p>\nLove the earth and sun and the animals, despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown or to any man or number of men, go freely with powerful uneducated persons and with the young and the mothers of families, read these leaves in the open air every season of every year of your life, re-examine all you have been told at school or church or in any book, dismiss whatever insults your own soul and your very flesh shall be a great poem.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/p>\nA blessed and happy Imbolc to all!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/33904114-4232135006552526430?l=monkeymindonline.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Today is the feast of the blessed Brigid, goddess of old Ireland, Christianized by the Roman church, and rather nicely, I think.
