D. Salinger<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Zinn was important for me. And Salinger was a signal figure in my life, hard to describe my debt to him. As was true for many others, I believe\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Some of my early understanding of Zen came through him.<\/p>\n<p>And I\u2019ll always be grateful for his pointing me and so many others to the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Way_of_a_Pilgrim\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span style=\"font-style: italic\">Way of A Pilgrim<\/span><\/a>.
