Now his life wasn\u2019t much before the war.<\/p>\n

And he threw most of the rest of his life away following the war, and in that throwing away caused much pain for his family.<\/p>\n

It took a long time to forgive him. Mostly\u2026<\/p>\n

And.<\/p>\n

He was a medic during the war. His body was torn apart helping others in battle\u2026<\/p>\n

I held that cap and contemplated the three purple hearts\u2026<\/p>\n

Perhaps, just possibly, his service to others, to some greater good, well,<\/p>\n

it feels<\/p>\n

like there was some sort of redemption in it.<\/p>\n
