\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><span id=\"The_Message\" class=\"mw-headline\"><i>From Wiki The Message<\/i><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Eugene Peterson is probably best known for <i><a title=\"The Message (Bible)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Message_(Bible)\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language<\/a>. <\/i>The stated goal of <i>The Message<\/i> was to make the original meaning more understandable and accessible to the modern reader. Peterson explains:<\/p>\n<table class=\"cquote\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><\/td>\n<td>When Paul of Tarsus wrote a letter, the people who received it understood it instantly. When the prophet Isaiah preached a sermon, I can\u2019t imagine that people went to the library to figure it out. That was the basic premise under which I worked. I began with the New Testament in the Greek \u2014 a rough and jagged language, not so grammatically clean. I just typed out a page the way I thought it would have sounded to the Galatians.<sup id=\"cite_ref-5\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eugene_H._Peterson#cite_note-5\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">[5]<\/a><\/sup><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>At the end of their concert, U2 closed with 2 songs lifting up our God. They begin with the powerful song \u201cYahweh\u201d and end with a song \u201c40\u201d which is their interpretation of Psalm 40.
