I\u2019m talking about questions that threaten the status quo, the establishment, popular belief, or the endorsed course of action. Like some of the questions I\u2019ve asked in the past that have gotten me in trouble: \u201cWhy is premarital sex a sin?\u201d \u201cWhy is homosexuality a sin?\u201d \u201cWhy would a loving God send good people to Hell just because they\u2019ve never heard the name of Jesus?\u201d \u201cWhy do we believe the bible is inerrant when it is obviously not?\u201d \u201cWhy do you, as a pastor, allow people to adore you inordinately?\u201d<\/p>\n

Questions like that. All it takes is one of those to put you in the fire. I guess I like it hot.<\/p>\n

Presently I find myself, like many of you, outside the institutional church. Largely because of this. But it is better to be a questioner than a member.<\/strong><\/p>\n
