Can\u2019t find a church? Can\u2019t find a pastor? You are not alone. Millions of Christians have been in the same place for 2,000 years all over the world\u2026 not just in oppressive regimes, but in Christian cultures as well. There can be an absence of safe places to gather where there are no churches or where there are thousands.<\/p>\n

It is a control-driven church culture that demands there be theologically trained leaders who are accountable to centralized authorities. That isn\u2019t necessary and it isn\u2019t required. Don\u2019t be afraid.<\/p>\n

So here\u2019s what you do:<\/p>\n

  1. Choose a place and time\u2026 anywhere, anytime, any frequency.<\/li>\n
  2. Tell your friends who want something like this.<\/li>\n
  3. Inform them of the intention: church, fellowship, community, worship, prayer, etc.<\/li>\n
  4. Even if leaderless, appoint a moderator: just someone to keep it centred.<\/li>\n
  5. Open with a prayer: impromptu, written, ancient, modern, or maybe best\u2026 silent.<\/li>\n
  6. Play a worship song or hymn: live or recorded. No cheese please.<\/li>\n
  7. Read a passage from the bible without agenda.<\/li>\n
  8. Talk about it. Try not to hold to any theological persuasion. Keep it open.<\/li>\n
  9. Close with prayer\u2026 maybe for someone present.<\/li>\n
  10. Have an end time and promise to keep it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    There are many other ways. But this is just an easy way to start. An easy 10-point checklist. It\u2019s nothing more than a home-group or small group. But that\u2019s all the church was at its inception anyway.<\/div>\n
    Please keep it free of goals, vision and agenda. Don\u2019t recreate what you ran away from.<\/div>\n
