<\/a>When the birds are gone<\/p>\nWill we care ?<\/p>\n
Will we sit outside<\/p>\n
And mourn the quiet ?<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Will there be<\/p>\n
A sense of loss ?<\/p>\n
Of missing beauty ?<\/p>\n
Of Nature diminished ?<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Or will we merely<\/p>\n
Go inside And turn on the TV ?<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
When there are<\/p>\n
No more animals<\/p>\n
And we own the earth<\/p>\n
What will we do ?<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
When the wind Is no longer<\/p>\n
Soft and warm<\/p>\n
But a raging monster<\/p>\n
Tearing off roofs<\/p>\n
And whipping fire,<\/p>\n
Will we curse Nature Or ourselves ?<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
And, when the oceans die<\/p>\n
And we own<\/p>\n
The stinking cesspool<\/p>\n
And the earth<\/p>\n
Is a giant landfill,<\/p>\n
Where will we go ?<\/p>\n
