Questioning Quiverfull Ideas – Only Babies You Personally Carry and Birth Are Good? June 20, 2014

from Ladies Against Feminism and The New York Post – Children of surrogacy campaign to outlaw the practice

When Jessica Kern gave evidence to lawmakers in Washington, DC, last summer opposing the legalization of surrogacy in the district, she was pointedly asked why she wasn’t grateful for the procedure that created her.

“The question was so simple and dismissive,” she recalls. “Like I would choose this for myself? When the only reason you’re in this world is a big fat paycheck, it’s degrading.”

Kern, 30, of Culpepper, (sic: It’s ‘Culpeper’) Va., is among a number of donor-conceived children in the US who are campaigning for tighter controls on the law governing assisted reproduction.

Ladies Against Feminism’s constant drum beat against every form of creating family except conceiving and birthing your own children leads one to consider how enlarging your family by other methods could possibly be bad or ‘UnBiblical’. So what do you think. Is adoption, surrogacy or fostering children undesirable or immoral? Pros? Cons? Are the ladies at Ladies Against Feminism backwards in their thinking?
