Encouraging Your Husband: Part 3 – Dress to Please

Encouraging Your Husband: Part 3 – Dress to Please August 10, 2017

EncouragingToday’s bit involves blaming and shaming those that wear cotton jumpers or sweats by claiming they look awful on everyone.

This is a series looking at the marriage advice given in Nancy Campbell’s book β€˜How to Encourage Your Husband’.

While packing for a move I have turned up are books, terrible idiotic books filled with toxic advice.

One of those books is by Nancy Campbell of Above Rubies β€˜How to Encourage Your Husband’. I think I ended up with this book in the aftermath of leaving my old church, given to me by one of my former friends that thought it would β€˜help’ my marriage since in her eyes my husband leaving our old church meant that I wasn’t doing my job of wife well enough. Reading through this book now I cannot help but laugh at some of the suggestions. The book is entirely written by commenters and comments from Nancy Campbell’s website.

Lose the Sweats
I have never met a person, either man or woman, who thinks baggy sweat pants and oversized T shirts are attractive. So often we gravitate to this sort of apparel because it is comfortable. This is also true with shapeless jumper dresses. (Ouch! Did I tread on some toes?) Let’s face it; even the modest Amish women still have shape to their dressesβ€”they do taper in at the waist. If you love wearing these sorts of clothes, but would also like to make more of an effort to honor your husband with your appearance, wear them during the day and then change before you greet your husband home. If you’re blessed to have your husband working from home then you’ll have to find some middle ground. Seek out comfortable clothes that still have feminine charm.
