Duggar worship? Check. Lori worship and groveling? Check. Decision to have no needs, desires or wants? Check. Is being an extra-Biblical Stepford Wife by suppressing every natural urge what Jesus ordered? I don\u2019t think so.<\/em><\/p>\n About three and a half years into our marriage, I was reading up on the Duggars and came across \u201can open letter written to Anna Duggar by blogger Lori Alexander<\/a>\u201c.<\/em> I read that letter and remembered being absolutely stunned and amazed how you were encouraging her to forgive her husband in light of such hurt and the other advice you gave her. I decided to check out your blog, and my life has never been the same.<\/p>\n I remember being so convicted at times that I thought to myself I would just quit reading it. But something kept me coming back, and I think it was because your words came straight from God\u2019s Word, and although they pierced me with conviction, they also brought great hope and light to our situation. I began looking at myself and taking the log out of my own eye, rather than constantly taking the speck out of my husband\u2019s eye.<\/p>\n I read the \u201csubmit\u201d verse one day and realized it said \u201cwives, submit YOURSELVES to your husband,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>not just \u201csubmit to your husband.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0I then realized that just trying to submit to my husband through my actions wasn\u2019t enough. I needed to submit my whole self to him.
