Pretty sure the story itself is a colorful fiction, but it does point out one thing, staying in a miserable marriage is just a bad idea. Either you start communicating and try to fix some of the issues or you move on. No one, not Lori or anyone else, can or should make the choice for you. The problem is not this woman\u2019s response to the things her husband did. But there is a big problem when you try to coddle a man, or give him a participation trophy for everything he does, including the things that get under your skin. Try communicating with him.<\/em><\/p>\n For bonus points Lori misunderstood and misrepresents the bulk of what happened in the original unquoted part of the story. This was not about a woman lying to her husband or not noticing his haircut, boxers and meal cooking. None of Lori\u2019s advice would have resulted in his sticking around.<\/em><\/p>\n Since I mentor women, I will tell them how she could have fulfilled what her husband wanted. First of all, never hide things from her husband. There shouldn\u2019t be secrets about actions taken. If she didn\u2019t like his haircut, she could have still said, \u201cYou got a haircut!<\/em>\u201d and then given him a big hug and kiss. Ignoring is not acceptable behavior in a marriage. If he cooked a meal for her, she could have eaten everything but the pork and thanked him for going through all of the effort to cook for her. (You know, try to win her husband back to her instead of continually pushing him away.) Instead of eating quickly, watching soaps, and falling asleep, she should have slowly enjoyed the meal with him and then taken him into the bedroom to reward him with what men love most.<\/p>\n What can we take away from this? Husbands love and need sex. Respect them with your words and actions as the Lord has commanded. Tell them you love them often and appreciate everything they do for you.
