<\/a>by Tim Bayly from Bayly Blog \u2013 The Church\u2019s Witness on Sexuality: Too Cute by Half<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\nEditor\u2019s note: I had to read this word salad about ten times along with the unquoted bits to try and figure out Bayly\u2019s point. It seems to be 1 \u2013 people making fun of his word salad are going to hell, even if his own writings seem to indicate that he has issues with his own masculinity, 2 \u2013 married hetero sex between his flavor of Christians is the only righteous sex, 3 \u2013 the church needs to demean anyone not lining up with his personal thoughts on sexuality. <\/p>\n Remember, the goal of my writing on sexuality\u00a0is not to demean women and promote male privilege. Every brash woman\u00a0and effeminate man\u00a0who hates Baylyblog never stops repeating\u00a0these accusations, but they couldn\u2019t be further from the truth. Manhood is not privilege,\u00a0but its opposite: responsibility.\u00a0As Christ died for His Bride\u00a0the\u00a0Church, so man\u00a0takes\u00a0up his own cross and dies\u00a0for the mother of his children, his lover, his bride.<\/p>\n The story of marriage is man dying so woman may give life and nurture it. Where that story is not told, marriage doesn\u2019t exist. It\u2019s not a private story for Christians. It\u2019s the timeless, transcultural story of sex written by God in the very DNA of His universe. To preach and live\u00a0this story is to preach and live\u00a0the Gospel.<\/p>\n Among the perishing, this Gospel witness is the stench of death. This is why worldlings outside and inside the church\u00a0never stop scorning, mocking, hissing,\u00a0and shaming those who try to be faithful witnesses to God\u2019s holy heterosexuality.<\/p>\n There can be\u00a0no middle ground on sexuality, although many of us are frantic\u2026<\/p>\n to fashion one.<\/p>\n Sometimes we even have the bodacity(sic \u2013 not a proper word in Websters, but a slang combo of \u2018bodacious\u2019 and \u2018tenacity\u2019)<\/em> to call our halfway-covenants \u201ccontextualized Gospel witness,\u201d but they\u2019re\u00a0the very opposite. Gospel witnesses\u00a0die so others may live. Look at Jesus.
