A newly-released sociological study, about to be celebrated in the media, supposedly says Yes.<\/p>\n

But the keen sociologist Mark Regnerus, looking more closely at this study, says No.<\/p>\n

Here is a sample of Regnerus\u2019 analysis:<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s what the new study claims: \u2018No differences were observed between household types on family relationships or any child outcomes.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s what the study actually signals (and it didn\u2019t take a PhD to see it): female same-sex parents report more anger, irritation, and comparative frustration with their (apparently misbehaving) children than do opposite-sex parents.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe authors even make overtures toward\u00a0blaming the absent father<\/em>\u00a0for the irritation female same-sex parents feel at their children\u2019s behavior. They don\u2019t cite his absence, though. (That cannot matter, right?) Rather, they question his unknown genes and their possible influence on their child\u2019s behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n
