Anticipating groans & begging forgiveness in advance \u2026<\/em><\/p>\nAfter forty years of shaving himself every morning, a man in a small Southern town decided he\u2019d had enough. He told his wife that he intended to let the local barber shave him from now on.<\/p>\n
He went to the shop, which was owned by the pastor of their Baptist church. The barber\u2019s wife, Grace, was working that day so she performed the task.<\/p>\n
Grace shaved him, sprayed him with lilac water and said \u201cThat will be $20.\u201d The man thought it a bit high, but paid the bill and went to work.<\/p>\n
The next morning he looked in the mirror and his face was as smooth as it had been when he left the barbershop the day before. \u201cNot bad,\u201d he thought. \u201cAt least I don\u2019t need to get a shave every day.<\/p>\n
The next morning the man\u2019s face was still smooth. Two weeks later, still smooth. It was more than he could take, so he returned to the barbershop.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought $20 was high for a shave,\u201d he told the Baptist-barber-preacher\u2019s wife. \u201cBut you must have done a great job. It\u2019s been two weeks and my whiskers still haven\u2019t grown back.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course they haven\u2019t\u201d she replied. \u201cYou were shaved by Grace. Once shaved, always shaved.\u201d<\/p>\n
