Gosh, thanks to all the other news of late, that sounds so 9\/10.<\/p>\n<p>The Wall Street Journal ran a piece today (8\/12) on the rift developing within the movement toward <a href=\"http:\/\/www.russianorthodoxchurch.ws\/01newstucture\/pagesen\/news04\/jointcommitte.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Russian Orthodox unity<\/a>.  The article states that Bishop Gabriel of Manhattan is opposed to union.  However, contrary to the opinion of the WSJ reporter, in my experience those who strongly agree with that position are more likely to be zealous converts than \u201cWhite Russians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOrthodoxy in DIXIE\u201d still has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orthodox-christian-comment.co.uk\/orthodoxy_in_dixie.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">legs<\/a> \u2026<br>\n<br>I wrote that article almost two years ago, while still in the Russian Church Abroad.  It\u2019s funny how some things just spring forth and run \u2026 Go Forest!  Run, Forest, Run!<\/p>\n<p>Almost shameless self promotion:  The Orthodox Christian Radio program, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.receive.org\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Come Receive the Light<\/a>, will be airing an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.receive.org\/index.php?submenu=2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">interview with me<\/a> on Saturday, August 21st.  I say \u201calmost shameless\u201d because, having done a couple interviews with CRTL a while back, I\u2019m not absolutely sure which one will be airing.  It may be a repeat of the \u201cOrthodoxy in DIXIE\u201d interview.  The other interview was about American Converts and their pastoral issues.  I refer to that one as \u201cOne Flew Over the Onion Dome.\u201d  [Apologies to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.receive.org\/index.php?submenu=2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Onion Dome<\/a>.]<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.balamand.edu.lb\/theology\/feastdormition.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">Feast of the Dormition <\/a>(Falling Asleep) of the Mother of God is just days away for those of us on the \u201cnew calendar.\u201d  Our brothers and sisters on the \u201cold calendar\u201d are just preparing for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.helicon.net\/j2643\/essay-32.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Fast<\/a>.
