T<\/span><\/b><\/span>his past year has been a doozy.\u00a0 I took a hiatus from regular podcasting<\/a> to dedicate Fridays to actually being a \u201cday off\u201d.\u00a0 I spoke at the annual Missions and Evangelism Conference<\/a> with Fr Peter Gillquist (his last; memory eternal).\u00a0 My first born was graduated from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts<\/a>.\u00a0 Our parish hosted our diocesan Parish Life Conference<\/a>.\u00a0 There was Camp<\/a> and the Clergy Symposium; I was also blessed to speak in Edmonton<\/a>, Oklahoma City, and Fort Worth.\u00a0 Daughter entered college; son began high school; baby girl in last year of elementary school; and the wife and I, thanks God, got a little older with each given day.<\/p>\n

Then there was the whirlwind of events regarding my teacher, mentor, and friend:\u00a0 Charles Caldwell<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Second pitch was a doozy!<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

All this, coupled with the normal activities of parish life<\/a>, is to say:\u00a0 whew<\/i> (thanks God).<\/p>\n

For those who still frequent this near-dormant blog:<\/p>\n

The Misses and I will be away for a couple weeks in celebration of a quarter century of bliss.\u00a0 Upon our return, it is my hope to begin blogging and podcasting again.\u00a0 Oh, and there\u2019s that book I\u2019m supposed to be<\/strike> writing.<\/p>\n

(Did I mention His Beatitude Ignatius IV, Patriarch of Antioch, and His Grace Basil, Bishop of the Diocese of Wichita and Mid-America will both be visiting Houston within the coming month?) <\/p>\n
