My first stop was the home of Minerva Simmons, aged 73, on Tomball Drive. She\u2019s the owner of the giant Cr\u00e8che scene \u2026 You know with the big plastic light-up Mary & Joseph, Wise Men, Manger, and the optional Star on a Pole \u2026<\/p>\n

As I pulled into her driveway it was crystal clear that something \u2013 Someone<\/span> \u2013 was missing \u2026 the Manger was empty. It was just a cradle for hay. Yep, Baby Jesus, MFM (missing from manger).<\/p>\n

(In the place where the plastic body normally lay was a sign that read: \u201cHave you seen me?\u201d \u2013 with a picture of Baby Jesus \u2026 well, you know what I mean.<\/em>)<\/p>\n

Friends, I\u2019ll spare you further details but, Mrs Simmons was devastated. This plastic Baby Jesus had been in their family since the 1970s when her kids were young. It meant the world to her.<\/p>\n

Silly me, I don\u2019t know why but, I asked her if it had been made in China. She said, \u201cNo, Malaysia.\u201d Malaysia is, of course, predominantly Muslim \u2013 and I briefly contemplated them naming a plastic baby JESUS<\/em><\/strong> as opposed to a stuffed Teddy bear named \u2026 oh, never mind.<\/em><\/p>\n

But that wasn\u2019t the strangest part of my day! After getting a good description of the Missing Plastic Jesus, I moseyed on over to \u2026<\/p>\n
