It\u2019s strange how seductive the season can be. The oranges and golds, the chill in the air, the scent of woodsmoke and the waning light all mean one thing: we are being drawn into darkness. We find this comforting, like retreating into the womb of the earth. We are drawn to the siren\u2019s call of the darkening earth.<\/p>\n

Pope John Paul II once said, \u201cWe are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song<\/em>.\u201d I think it\u2019s pretty fair to say Pagans are the Hallows people and remembrance is our song. Although we ring in the May with a full heart, even with popular notions of Witches aside, it is the autumn that seems to resonate with us the most.<\/p>\n

I hope you have a magical Hallows. I hope you have grinning Jack-O-Lanterns, deep rembrance, good company and comforting foods. We may be being drawn into the dark half of the year, but we do not go alone.
