Don\u2019t go back to sleep. \u2013 Jellaludin Rumi<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I got up from my bed and went wandering through the woods at dawn. I sat on a plank bridge across a  lake, facing the rising east, while frogs spoke behind me. Then I walked deeper into the woods where  other voices chanted up the sun.\u00a0 Something I couldn\u2019t see, whose voice I didn\u2019t recognize, squeaked  and jumped into the creek.\u00a0 A bunny bounded from my path, flashing his white tail at me a few  times.\u00a0 Then he sat under some brambles very still, head turned over his shoulder and ears  cocked, to see if I\u00a0was fooled.\u00a0 I wasn\u2019t, but I\u00a0didn\u2019t let him know.\u00a0 I  think seeing a rabbit on Midsummer morning must mean good luck.<\/p>\n<p>I  picked some blackberries, wild sweet things to give my son when he  awoke.\u00a0 I picked some leaves and flowers: blackberry, violet, elder.\u00a0 Then I drank some faery tea.\u00a0 The sun has vanquished the darkness.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A bunny bounded from my path, flashing his white tail at me a few times.
