I am learning how much I rely on the daily readings and prayers. I confess that I’m especially grateful for the audio prayers at www.missionstclare.com.

I confess that I think that I think perhaps I will always struggle with my need for approval and achievement. One of the worst ways this comes out in my life is that I deceive myself by thinking that I will change, grow, be happy, by fulfilled when I achieve or accomplish something. I confess that I am still struggling to learn that the best way to grow is not through striving to be the best but striving to be the least. For me this means a lot of humiliating looks in the mirror, and the sort of growth that only comes through self-knowledge & self-awareness.

I confess that I really want to “get” the zombie thing. It looks cool and I get the allure. I really want to belong, but it’s not in me as of yet. I’m hoping that I can somehow become an appreciator at some point, but I fear that it will never truly be a part of my soul. Maybe I need to start again – Invasion of the Body Snatchers?

I confess that I have a ton of writing to do this week. One project in particular has my number right now and I’m not really sure how to get started. I confess that I’m gripping. I confess that I’m not a seasoned enough writer to know, yet, how to deal with this phenomenon.

I confess that I watched some Daffy Duck with my kids this weekend, and it just never gets old. The new Daffy stuff is even better than the old – I don’t know who is writing it, but they have Daffy down to a science – brilliant!

I confess that I like the movie Armageddon – I know I should keep that quiet, but there it is. I actually enjoyed it when I first saw it & when it is on TNT I always catch a few minutes. Also, I confess that besides Elmo, Cookie Monster is my favorite Muppet, and I think Miss Piggy is creepy.

I confess that I haven’t had a straight up physical exam at the doctor in over a decade.

I confess that I am feeling very thankful this morning for the Book of Common Prayer, especially for the Morning Office.
