It\u2019s pretty amazing to think that nearly every consumer product you buy traces back to just a handful of parent corporations.<\/p>\n<p>These enormous corporations are now <a href=\"http:\/\/timsuttle.blogspot.com\/2012\/05\/exxonmobil-american-power-how-most.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">considered to be \u201cpeople\u201d by the federal government<\/a>. This means that they can give unlimited amounts of cash to politicians who are running for office. They do not do this because they are somehow altruistic, but because they expect the politicians to do their bidding.<\/p>\n<p>I encourage everyone to read about this decision, it\u2019s called <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Citizens_United_v._Federal_Election_Commission\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><i>Citizen\u2019s United v. Federal Election Commission<\/i><\/a>. That\u2019s the wikipedia link \u2013 it\u2019s not a bad place to start reading.
