charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p>As we all know, NBC Olympics made the understandable if <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/nbcfail-journalist-at-the-independent-has-twitter-account-suspended-after-complaining-about-nbcs-coverage-of-london-2012-olympics-7987906.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">slightly irritating<\/a> decision to broadcast the London Olympics, including Olympic gymnastics, at a substantial delay. \u00a0So I can only claim to be \u201clive-blogging\u201d in the loosest sense, blogging along with the East Coast broadcast. \u00a0I have not yet seen the results \u2014 so if you know, don\u2019t post the results!<\/p>\n<p>Earlier today, I argued both for the view that the view that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/philosophicalfragments\/2012\/07\/30\/jordyn-wieber-was-robbed\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">Jordyn Wieber was robbed<\/a>, and then made the opposite case and argued that we should celebrate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/philosophicalfragments\/2012\/07\/30\/jordyn-wieber-was-not-robbed-she-was-outperformed-by-aly-raisman\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">beautiful gymnastics of Aly Raisman<\/a>. \u00a0I\u2019ve also, in the past, told <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/Resources\/Additional-Resources\/Olympic-Promised-Land.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">my own gymnastics story<\/a>. \u00a0So, while we wait for the competition to begin, feel free to get caught up.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2284\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2284\" style=\"width: 158px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wp-media.patheos.com\/blogs\/sites\/46\/2012\/07\/Sally-Ward.jpeg\" class=\" href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/Resources\/Additional-Resources\/Topic-Page-Gymnastics.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">series of interviews<\/a> of elite gymnasts reflecting on their spiritual lives and athletic lives. \u00a0You can find interviews with Dominique Moceanu, Amanda Borden, Samantha Peszek, Kim Anthony and Stephen McCain. \u00a0You can also find an extraordinary interview with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/Resources\/Additional-Resources\/Leaving-Gold-for-God.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">Sally Ward<\/a>, who was practically on the Olympic team when she felt a spiritual calling to walk away from it all \u2014 and God had a purpose. \u00a0It\u2019s an amazing story. \u00a0Check it out.<\/p>\n<p>You can also find <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/Resources\/Additional-Resources\/The-Trials-of-Parenting-Athletes.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\">an article<\/a> from my sainted father on the trials of parenting an Olympic-level gymnast. \u00a0(Articles that have been at Patheos for a long time have gone through social media changes \u2014 resetting their \u201cshare counters\u201d to zero. \u00a0So, some were shared many hundreds of times on Facebook and Twitter, but it will not show.)<\/p>\n<p>Right now, I\u2019m waiting for them to show gymnastics. \u00a0<strong>I\u2019m not nearly as upset about the delayed broadcast as others. \u00a0But am I the only one who finds it massively frustrating that they do not give us a schedule that tells us when each sport will be on?<\/strong>\u00a0 I understand that they want to compel us to watch the whole thing, but this is unconscionable coercion! \u00a0Or something.<\/p>\n<p>Visualize an Olympic schedule. \u00a0We can
