Thomas Berry, the late ecotheologian once commented<\/a>, \u201cIt\u2019s all a question of story. We are in trouble just now because we do not have a good story. We are in between stories . . \u201d But perhaps not for much longer.<\/p>\n

From September 27 \u2013 October 3, 2014 the\u00a0 New Story Summit: Inspiring Pathways for our Planetary Future<\/a> was held at the\u00a0 Findhorn Foundation<\/a> in Scotland. The highlights of which are generously shared in this free on demand<\/a> feature length documentary, A New Story for Humanity: Change the Story, Change the World.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/p>\nGrounded in Simplicity<\/strong><\/p>\nThis is not a sensationalist flick on the heroics of Greenpeace eco-warriors. It is a beautifully interwoven tapestry of humanity at its finest. Activist and author Satish Kumar, General Secretary of the Global Ecovillage Network Lua Bashana-Kekana, spiritual educator Dororthy Maclean, and Andean medicine man Puma Quispe Singona are but a few of its global panelists. Their visions are wise, grounded, and inspirational.<\/p>\nAs are the many live sessions the film captures, combining ritual, art, and story to convey one stirring and timely message: the time is now \u2013 to be the living change our economically bankrupt, contaminated, and relationally fragmented world is crying out for.<\/p>\nIt won\u2019t happen overnight. And it won\u2019t happen without us. Passive spectatorship and living in a cultural trance will not cut it. Sure we love our PC\u2019s, Smartphones, and SUV\u2019s but at what price to the environment? Not everyone is cut out for eco activism; but all can make the everyday changes that might just make a world of difference.<\/p>\nThe incidental and accidental differences of the human community constitute the rich bio-diversity of our living planet.
