<\/iframe><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\">11-year-old British composer Alma Deutscher enthralled a Vienna audience at the premier of her opera Cinderella.<\/h4>\nThe sold-out performance at Vienna\u2019s Casino Baumgarten Theatre, received a 10-minute standing ovation. And is scheduled for two more performances on January 4th and 5th.<\/p>\nAnd we\u2019re not talking here of a mini kid-friendly opera.\u00a0Deutscher\u2019s \u201cre-imagined\u201d Cinderella is two-and-a-half hours long, with a musical score of 237 pages.<\/p>\nWhat inspires this sensationally talented musician?<\/p>\nSkipping<\/strong><\/p>\nAs she <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-38467218\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">told<\/a>\u00a0the BBC\u2019s Radio 4 Today programme, \u201cquite a few of my melodies and themes for this opera came while I was skipping.\u201d And she notes, \u201cI take my skipping rope to the rehearsals and skip with it in the breaks.\u201d<\/p>\nShe explains that by running around twirling the \u201cmagic\u201d skipping rope handles, melodies and musical scores often take rudimentary shape in her head. Or they come in her dreams . .<\/p>\nWhen asked about her creativity in general, Deutscher <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-38467218\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">said<\/a>: \u201cI don\u2019t go to school, I learn at home, I\u2019m home-schooled. I read lots of books, I love reading\u2026 I read biographies about scientists and composers.\u201d<\/p>\nFame<\/strong><\/p>\nAt age 8 Deutscher appeared (and performed) on the Ellen DeGeneres show.
