Dazed and confused: Trump’s new ambassador to Canada says she believes “both sides” of climate change science.
Kelly Knight Craft, the new U.S. ambassador to Canada, said she appreciates and respects “both sides of the science” when it comes to climate change, while speaking with the CBC’s Rosemary Barton.
In the interview, Craft, who assumed her new position earlier this week, tried to explain her confused and erroneous position on climate change:
I believe there are sciences on both sides that are accurate. I think that both sides have their own results, from their studies, and I appreciate and I respect both sides of the science.

Watching the interview, one gets the distinct feeling that Craft has no idea what she is talking about when it comes to the science concerning climate change, and appears to be simply parroting talking points pre-approved by the Trump administration.
For the record, the idea that there are two sides to climate change science is simply false. There is no reputable science disputing climate change. The idea that there are two sides to the science concerning climate change is a right-wing fantasy promoted by Trump and other dishonest and disingenuous Republican politicians.
Indeed, Trump is on record rejecting the well established science concerning climate change, even going so far as to claim that “nobody really knows” if climate change is real in a 2016 interview with “Fox News Sunday.”
Last week reports surfaced indicating that Kathleen Hartnett White, Trump’s pick to be the White House senior adviser on environmental policy, claims that belief in global warming is a “kind of paganism” for “secular elites.”
Bottom line: Kelly Knight Craft, the new U.S. ambassador to Canada, is yet another incompetent, anti-science, Trump appointee, that will only embarrass and debase the U.S. at home and abroad. Sad!
