3 Boogaloo Bois Arrested On Domestic Terrorism Charges In Las Vegas June 4, 2020

Boogaloo Bois: Three far right extremists identified as part of the “Boogaloo” movement have been arrested on domestic terrorism charges in Las Vegas after planning an armed assault during protests over the police killing of George Floyd.

Business Insider reports:

Three former US servicemen and self-proclaimed members of the far-right “boogaloo” movement were arrested on domestic terrorism charges and accused of carrying unregistered firearms and trying to spark violence during protests against police brutality.

Associated Press reports:

Three Nevada men with ties to a loose movement of right-wing extremists advocating the overthrow of the U.S. government have been arrested on terrorism-related charges in what authorities say was a conspiracy to spark violence during recent protests in Las Vegas.

The complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas on Wednesday said they self-identified as part of the “boogaloo” movement, which U.S. prosecutors said in the document is “a term used by extremists to signify coming civil war and/or fall of civilization.”

White nationalists, white supremacists, right wing militias, gun rights extremists, Proud Boys, and other far right extremists have adopted the code word “boogaloo” as a shorthand reference for a hoped for race-based future civil war.

These “Boogaloo Bois” have been infiltrating recent protests over the police killing of George Floyd, taking advantage of the crowds and the emotionally charged atmosphere to instigate chaos and disruption in an attempt to discredit the Black Lives Matter movement and further their goal of a race-based civil war.

The three Boogaloo Bois arrested in Las Vegas have been identified as Stephen T. Parshall, 35, Andrew T. Lynam Jr., 23, and William L. Loomis, 40. All three are former U.S. service men.

They are currently being held on $1 million bond each in the Clark County jail.

Associated Press reports on the charges:

Each currently faces two federal charges — conspiracy to damage and destroy by fire and explosive, and possession of unregistered firearms. In state court, they’ve been accused of felony conspiracy, terrorism and explosives possession. Trutanich said they’ll be prosecuted in both jurisdictions.

Commenting on the Boogaloo Bois’ plot, Steve Wolfson, the district attorney in Las Vegas, said:

This type of planning and intent on causing mayhem is terroristic and will not be tolerated.

Bottom line: Three Boogaloo Bois (armed far right extremists) have been arrested on domestic terrorism charges in Las Vegas after planning an armed assault during protests over the police killing of George Floyd.
