Pope Leo issued a statement today that was directly aimed at Trump’s continuous and repeated threats that he will totally destroy Iranian civilization if they do not bend to his will.
His latest comment was that “an entire civilization will die tonight” if Iran doesn’t “make a deal” with him. Based on his other comments, I would guess that any “deal” Trump would accept would include Iran handing over control of the Strait of Hormuz and all its oil resources to Trump.
Notice I say hand these things over to Trump. I don’t believe for one minute that he is doing this — or anything else — for the United States of America or its people. I don’t think our lives matter to him any more than the lives of Renee Good and Alex Pretti or the innocent civilians in Iran.
Pope Leo said today that this threat to destroy an entire civilization by Donald Trump is “truly unacceptable.”
