Pope Francis will canonize Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II in St Peter\u2019s Square on April 27.<\/p>\n

When this was first announced, I wanted to be there. But, of course, I don\u2019t have the money, \u00a0have to work and well, so much for that idea. Then, I considered the crush of crowds and decided that even if I had the money and the time, I still wouldn\u2019t want to do it.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not really a big crowd girl. That\u2019s why I do most of my Christmas shopping on-line.<\/p>\n

It turns out that the best view of the proceedings may be at my local movie theater.<\/p>\n

The Vatican is going to live-stream the proceedings. What a wonderful gift to all of us.<\/p>\n

VATICAN CITY (RNS) While millions of pilgrims are expected to attend the Catholic Church\u2019s first-ever double canonization at the end of April, the Vatican is preparing its most ambitious TV and social media campaign for the millions who don\u2019t make it to Rome.<\/p>\n

City officials are expecting more than 5 million people to attend the ceremony when Pope Francis declares his predecessors Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII saints in St Peter\u2019s Square on April 27.<\/p>\n

For the first time viewers will be able to watch the historic event live in 3-D movie theaters in 20 countries across North and South America and Europe through a deal between Vatican TV and Rupert Murdoch\u2019s Sky TV network, Sony and other partners.<\/p>\n

The Vatican\u2019s television unit CTV will produce the event in 3-D and it will be screened in more than 600 movie theaters worldwide. Admission will be free.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
