For an in-depth look at Americans\u2019 perspectives on evolution, <a href=\"http:\/\/publicreligion.org\/research\/2011\/09\/climate-change-evolution-2012\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">take a look<\/a> at this PRRI survey from last fall.<\/p>\n<p>A survey of Irish Catholics <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.co.uk\/2012\/04\/12\/irish-catholics-want-female-married-priests_n_1420276.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">reveals a sharp rift<\/a> between lay Catholics and the Roman Catholic hierarchy. <a href=\"http:\/\/publicreligion.org\/2012\/05\/what-do-catholics-think-about-the-contraception-mandate\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Many Catholics disagree<\/a> with the Church\u2019s official stance on issues like gay rights or contraception.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/guest-voices\/post\/bin-ladens-personal-letters-reveal-muslims-are-part-of-the-solution-to-securing-the-united-states\/2012\/05\/31\/gJQA1hwr4U_blog.html?wprss=rss_on-faith\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">In a column for the Washington Post<\/a>,\u00a0C. Welton Gaddy and Salam Al-Marayati argue that embracing American Muslims as an important part of the American community can help deter violent extremism.
