Apparently, some oenophiles are not as discerning as they would like to think: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/blogs\/thesalt\/2012\/06\/26\/155503628\/fancy-names-can-fool-wine-geeks-into-paying-more-for-a-bottle?ft=1&amp;f=1001\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">a new marketing survey revealed<\/a> that participants not only like wines with fancy-sounding names better, they\u2019re willing to shell out more for them.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/06\/24\/opinion\/sunday\/the-generation-gap-is-back.html?_r=1\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">good old-fashioned generation gap<\/a> is nothing new to public opinion researchers (see Americans\u2019 views on <a href=\"http:\/\/publicreligion.org\/research\/2011\/08\/generations-at-odds\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">same-sex marriage,<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/publicreligion.org\/research\/2011\/09\/what-it-means-to-be-american\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">immigration reform<\/a>, or a handful of other issues), but these differences could lead to an all-out war, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/newsweek\/2012\/06\/24\/david-frum-on-how-we-need-to-learn-to-say-no-to-the-elderly.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">at least according to David Fru<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/newsweek\/2012\/06\/24\/david-frum-on-how-we-need-to-learn-to-say-no-to-the-elderly.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">m<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Might the Episcopal Church\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.religiondispatches.org\/archive\/sexandgender\/6093\/the_truth_in_transgender%3A_will_the_episcopal_church_amend_its_rules\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">move to permit<\/a>\u00a0the ordination of transgender clergy?\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/publicreligion.org\/research\/2011\/11\/american-attitudes-towards-transgender-people\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Nine-in-ten white mainline Protestants agree<\/a>\u00a0that transgender people deserve the same rights and protections as other Americans, but it seems that such a dramatic change could be a struggle for Episcopalian transgender advocates.<\/p>\n<p>It may be stating the obvious to repeat the results of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/news\/religion\/story\/2012-06-25\/romney-poll-mormons\/55819212\/1?csp=34news&amp;utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+usatoday-NewsTopStories+(News+-+Top+Stories)&amp;utm_content=Google+Reader\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">a new poll from Brigham Young University,<\/a> which found that more than 8-in-10 Mormons are excited about Romney\u2019s nomination. More interestingly, however, Mormons remain suspicious of the media:\u00a068% said they do not trust the media to cover the church fairly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/2012\/06\/25\/religiosity-varies-dramatically-across-countries\/?utm_source=feedburner&amp;utm_medium=feed&amp;utm_campaign=Feed:+SociologicalImagesSeeingIsBelieving+(Sociological+Images:+Seeing+Is+Believing)\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The United States remains<\/a> one of the most religious countries in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Should Mitt Romney pick a Catholic veep? Former Virginia DNC chairman\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/guest-voices\/post\/should-romney-nominate-a-catholic-veep\/2012\/06\/26\/gJQACoIY4V_blog.html?wprss=rss_on-faith\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Paul Goldman and public policy scholar Mark J.
