I would like to take this opportunity to thank Democratic Vice-Presidential nominee Joe Biden and TV new anchor Katie Couric for illustrating so perfectly what is wrong with the American educational system. <\/p>\n

Biden was speaking to Katie Couric, that fair and balanced reporter, about the current financial situation when he said<\/a> <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn\u2019t just talk about the princes of greed,\u201d Biden told Couric. \u201cHe said, \u2018Look, here\u2019s what happened.'\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Somehow, sharp-as-a-tack Katie missed the fact that people in 1929 didn\u2019t own television sets, and Roosevelt was not the president yet.<\/p>\n

Aren\u2019t we lucky to have such a brilliant man voting on bills relating to educating our children? Aren\u2019t we even luckier that the so-called Third Estate is honest and not in the bag for any particular party? Because I\u2019m willing to bet that if Gov Palin had made the same mistake that Katie would have jumped all over her and it would be playing on an endless loop on all news programs for several weeks. Do you remember Dan Quayle and the spelling of \u201cpotatoe\u201d? As it is, the story has been quietly ignored by all major media.
