My gorgeous friend Calah from Barefoot and Pregnant<\/a> asked for an easy suggestion for dessert, and I happen to have one. Here\u2019s my great-grandmother\u2019s recipe (or receipt as it says on the hand written note) for Deep-Dish Pie (what most of us would call cobbler.)<\/p>\n

Crazy easy and super good. Make it with whatever flavor fruit strikes your fancy.<\/p>\n

Deep Dish Pie<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

2 cans pie filling any flavor
\n3\/4 stick butter (she wrote oleo, which is margarine, butter is better)
\n1 cup sugar
\n1 cup flour
\n1 cup milk
\n2 tsp baking powder
\nt tsp vanilla<\/p>\n

Grease casserole dish. Mix all ingredients but butter and filling together.\u00a0 Put in pan.\u00a0 Spoon pie filling on top, and slice butter on top of it all.\u00a0 Bake at 350 for about an hour.<\/p>\n

Yes, it is that easy.\u00a0 It looks weird, but the crust rises up through and around the fruit to make a lovely golden brown cake-y top.\u00a0 Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Serve it with vanilla ice cream and you can\u2019t go wrong.<\/p>\n
