I don\u2019t claim to be a genius, or even the smartest person in the room very often, but I\u2019ve managed to learn a few things on my way to being thirty-*mumble*.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what I\u2019ve learned so far in life, in completely random order:<\/p>\n

  1. The green M & M\u2019s taste exactly like the other colors, but they\u2019re more fun to eat.<\/li>\n
  2. On cold winter nights, there\u2019s nowhere better to put my chilly feet than on my husband\u2019s calves.\u00a0 (He may disagree about that one.)<\/li>\n
  3. If a person is constantly complaining about the drama in her life, she\u2019s usually the cause of it.<\/li>\n
  4. Avoid drama people like they have the plague.\u00a0 They do.\u00a0 It\u2019s called drama.\u00a0 RUN AWAY!!!!<\/li>\n
  5. There is nothing better than the smell of a newborn baby\u2019s head, or the feel of that baby curled up asleep on your chest.<\/li>\n
  6. I\u2019ve learned to make amazing fried chicken.\u00a0 Seriously\u2026.to make the angels weep\u2026.it\u2019s that good.<\/li>\n
  7. Fried chicken makes a mess, so I should only make it for people who are willing to deal with it.<\/li>\n
  8. Thinking about doing something and daydreaming about it, won\u2019t accomplish anything.\u00a0 If it would, I would have run hundreds of marathons.\u00a0 I\u2019ve run one.<\/li>\n
  9. Instant pudding makes amazing frosting for a cake when you\u2019ve run out of powdered sugar and can\u2019t make frosting.<\/li>\n
  10. The friends I loved in my childhood are among my favorite people to this day.\u00a0 Children have very good instincts about people if they are taught to listen to them.<\/li>\n
  11. I like color in my household.\u00a0 A lot.\u00a0 I feel completely unsettled in a space which is filled with neutrals.<\/li>\n
  12. If someone is an ass, they will not be able to hide it forever.<\/li>\n
  13. You should believe them when they show you that they are, in fact, an ass.<\/li>\n
  14. It is worth spending the extra money to get the highest thread count you can on sheets.\u00a0 You will regret the cheap ones almost immediately.<\/li>\n
  15. Any time spent in prayer is not wasted.<\/li>\n
  16. Sometimes it\u2019s best pray while you\u2019re doing other stuff, too.\u00a0 The 2 year old won\u2019t understand \u201cThere\u2019s no dinner because Mom was praying.\u201d<\/li>\n
  17. There will never be a time that all the laundry is done unless I\u2019m washing clothes while I\u2019m naked.\u00a0 Even that isn\u2019t a good solution, because the second I get dressed it will start all over again.<\/li>\n
  18. If I\u2019m not completely happy with something I buy, I should take it back.\u00a0 My husband works too hard for our money, he trades his time with us for his paycheck.\u00a0 With that kind of sacrifice, we\u2019d better be happy with it.<\/li>\n
  19. If I eat like a vegan and cut out sugars, my body feels amazing and my brain works better.<\/li>\n
  20. I really miss fried chicken( see #6) and grilled cheese sandwiches.<\/li>\n
  21. I don\u2019t like blood and gore in either movies or books.\u00a0 The visual from the movies will haunt me for life, and the mental images from the books will keep me up at night.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n
  22. Strawberry water<\/a> is my favorite thing to drink.\u00a0 Ever!<\/li>\n
  23. My husband smells good, even when he thinks he\u2019s funky. <\/li>\n
  24. The Princess Bride is always worth watching, and almost always worth quoting.<\/li>\n
  25. Corn on the Cob is better when it\u2019s been grilled.<\/li>\n
  26. I like my saints bloody, my priests holy, and my church Catholic <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
