(We have to do it close to Christmas or everything gets eaten.) Because I love seeing what other people are baking and what their traditions are, I\u2019ll be sharing ours with you.<\/p>\n<p>My mother started making Black Bottoms for Christmas back when I was a tiny little girl and we were living in the Philippines. The freedom of having live-in help allowed her the time to experiment with an amazing array of recipes. This in one that stuck, and we look forward to it every year. They\u2019re\u00a0easy to make, and amazing to eat. They even freeze well so that you can make them ahead of time if you don\u2019t have teenagers who will sneak them out of the freezer for a late night snack.<\/p>\n<p>I hope that you like my mother\u2019s Black Bottoms as much as we do!<\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 0, 0);\">Merry Christmas!<\/span><\/h1>\n<h3><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Blackbottoms<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3 cups flour \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 cups sugar \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 tsp. baking soda\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6 tbsp cocoa powder \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 tsp. salt \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2 tbl. vinegar<\/span><\/p>\n<p>3\/4 cup oil<\/p>\n<p>2 cups warm water<\/p>\n<p>2 tsp vanilla<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mix all.<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Filling:<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 8 oz pkg cream cheese<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1\/3 cup sugar<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 beaten egg<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1 lg. package chocolate chips<\/span><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><br style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Preheat oven to 350. Fill mini\u00a0cupcake pans 1\/2 full, then top with 1\/2 teas. filling. Bake for 20 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>(Don\u2019t double unless you\u2019re feeding an army. I forgot how many it made when I used the mini pans instead of regular sized cupcakes, and HOLY COW!
