In many ways, this year was the exact opposite of the last. There were no furious scramblings for answers or a diagnosis. Our only battle was with the insurance company for wheels for a wheelchair, and that dragon was handily slayed with the help of social media.<\/p>\n
This has been a year of settling into the lives we have now \u2013 our eldest has moved out and begun her own life with all of the myriad choices which are now her own to make, our son has adjusted to school outside of our home and we\u2019ve gotten used to his being gone, and the rest of the children have all grown up just a little bit more. Even the wheelchair which was the source of such frustration has become a non-issue as it\u2019s just a part of normal to us now. That\u2019s where we are today \u2013 grateful for normal. We\u2019ve been blessed with boring for a few months now, and it\u2019s been a wonderful chance to catch our collective breath and look around a little bit.<\/p>\n
I know that there are new battles and sleeping dragon lying on the other side of the hill just beyond our sight, but right now we\u2019re content to let them slumber a little longer. Meanwhile, we\u2019re just going to hang out here in our pajamas for a little bit longer, watching movies and playing video games.<\/p>\n
