My life often seems to be a dizzying blur of activity \u2013 homeschooling, mothering, housekeeping, writing, blogging, radio show, CrossFit coaching, speaking, plus the rest of life. It\u2019s a swirl of activity that makes my ADD brain happy and tends to keep me out of trouble. Then came this week\u2019s trip to Portland, OR to record a new round of shows, only to come home and discover that many of the activities\u00a0which make up my life seem to be wrapping themselves up and ending.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an unusual place to find myself in \u2013 a place of silence with not much on the horizon.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not really that much of a planner. I\u2019m definitely a dreamer though. I usually daydream a bit and let the ideas marinate until I\u2019m ready to charge forward towards a newly discovered \u201clife-long\u201d goal. I\u2019m not sure to make of this moment in my life.\u00a0 I don\u2019t even know enough about where I\u2019m going to be able to imagine the possibilities of what might be when I get there.\u00a0It\u2019s an exciting time, to be sure. The more things wind down, the more possibilities open up.<\/p>\n

I keep reminding myself that God was not in the noise, or the earthquake, or the fire; but He was in the silence.<\/p>\n

As I sit here looking at the now gaping holes in my schedule for February and beyond, I\u2019m trying to not panic as I strive to\u00a0listen\u00a0to\u00a0the silence.<\/p>\n

Would you mind praying for me today? I don\u2019t need for God to tell me where I\u2019m headed, but just to make sure that the sign-posts along the way are obvious and easy to read. I need him to be Vegas sign, neon lights clear. I\u2019m not smart enough for subtle. I need Him to give me a gentle shove and send me on my way. I\u2019m trying to be patient, but I\u2019m also excited for the journey to begin.<\/p>\n
