#4 went to a birthday party today.\u00a0 It\u2019s all I\u2019ve heard about for 2 weeks, the neighbor girl\u2019s birthday party.\u00a0 It was the light at the end of the tunnel last week for her.\u00a0 \u201cJust get through this week and then the birthday party<\/i>.\u201d\u00a0 (Birthday party needs glitter there.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how to do that.\u00a0 Can you imagine it?\u00a0 Thanks.)<\/p>\n

I went over before it started and explained the arthritis issue<\/i>.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know her well, but she was friendly and reassuring.\u00a0 It was a spa day party.\u00a0 The girls were getting manicures and making funky hair accessories.\u00a0 #4\u2019s physical limitations were not going to be a problem.\u00a0 She was not going to go to a party and be ARTHRITIS GIRL!<\/i><\/p>\n

The party guests decided to take an unexpected detour to the trampoline.\u00a0 \u201cWhat could I do?\u201d My neighbor shrugged.\u00a0 \u201cThey were all having such a good time.\u00a0 But #4 seemed a bit upset by it, so I let her stay afterwards to play for a bit because I think she felt a bit left out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ummmm\u2026you think<\/i> she felt left out?\u00a0 I can pretty much guarantee that she felt left out, because she came home, curled up in my arms on the couch, and sobbed about the fact that her friend and her friend\u2019s friends completely ignored her while they laughed and jumped on the trampoline\u2026..and she thinks<\/i> she felt left out?\u00a0 Yeah, mom, she did.\u00a0 Good call.<\/p>\n

My much saner husband pointed out to me that a group of 7 and 8 year old girls are very likely to look in the backyard and see a<\/p>\n
