big ol\u2019 pot of chili <\/a>simmering away on my stove right now.\u00a0\u00a0 Happiness!\u00a0 Who cares that it\u2019s 110* outside?\u00a0 I\u2019ve been craving traditionally cold weather foods like chili and chicken and dumplings.\u00a0 Just wait for winter when all I want to eat is a heaping helping of ice cream.\u00a0 I wish I could blame being pregnant, but this is normal for me.<\/p>\n***********************************************<\/p>\n
I keep forgetting that I\u2019m pregnant.\u00a0 I\u2019m not doing anything to jeopardize the new girl, but I can go the whole day without thinking about the fact that she\u2019s coming.\u00a0 I just am that busy.\u00a0 Even the big belly doesn\u2019t register in my mind.\u00a0 Then I crawl into bed at night and in that moment of calm I feel her stretch or kick and I think \u201cOh, hi there!\u201d and I feel like I finally get to greet her for the day.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I realized yesterday that this baby will be here in 3 months and we have nothing ready at all for her.\u00a0 We have no crib (ours disintegrated when we took it apart), no clothes (#4 was born in the summer so her clothes won\u2019t work for our winter baby), no car seat (#6 is still using it)\u2026there is one outfit hanging in the closet which a neighbor gave us but it\u2019s too big for a newborn.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m not panicking yet, but I could quickly get there.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m letting my mother in law design and order #7\u2019s baptismal gown.\u00a0 She never had a girl and always wanted one.\u00a0 She\u2019s thrilled!\u00a0 I trust her completely.\u00a0 It\u2019s one less thing on my to do list.<\/p>\n

#1 worked all summer at the company where the Computer Guy worked.\u00a0 She enjoyed being a grown up for the summer, they were thrilled with the job she did for them.\u00a0 The great thing is that this taste of a real office has completely changed what she wants to study in college.\u00a0 She used to think that graphic design was for her, but now she\u2019s finding that she really enjoys accounting and is interested in the laws surrounding private enterprise and how they affect corporations.<\/p>\n
When I picked her up this afternoon, she was in a deep discussion with one of the officers of the company about the national debt, the rate of taxation, federal spending and the proper place of the federal government.\u00a0 I love that he took her seriously.\u00a0 I love even more that she was dead on in her analysis.<\/p>\n

We start schooling on Monday with a reduced class schedule.\u00a0 I like to start off with the things which might need a refresher like math or Latin and get them reacquainted before we jump back in with both feet.\u00a0 It eases us all into in a bit at a time.<\/p>\n

#3 has built up a tolerance to his ADHD medication and has really been struggling for the last few weeks.\u00a0 I really feel for him.\u00a0 I know how hard it is to have your brain working normally at last only to lose that feeling.\u00a0 We went to the doctor yesterday and changed prescriptions.\u00a0 I\u2019m sending up a prayer and hoping like mad that this helps him.\u00a0 I think we all miss the calmer boy he was a few months ago.<\/p>\n
