The packers arrive at our house one week from today.\u00a0 I\u2019m surprisingly calm as we\u2019re entering the home stretch.\u00a0 My military friends (who move a lot, that\u2019s why I asked their advice) have a repeating litany of ziplock bags and plastic bins.\u00a0 Put all the clothes, except what you need for the traveling days, in plastic bins.\u00a0 Put anything you want to stay together, such as the contents of your kitchen junk drawer, in baggies.\u00a0 They\u2019ve all waxed rhapsodic about the 3 gallon sized bags so often that my heart went a little pitter-pat to actually find them.<\/p>\n
Monday they pack.\u00a0 Tuesday they load.\u00a0 Thursday they unload us at the new house.\u00a0 It\u2019s pretty exciting and dead frightening all at the same time.\u00a0 I have help for 1 day.\u00a0 The Computer Guy got Thursday off and that\u2019s it. Then he will be returning to Oklahoma to oversee the packing of the office computers before returning to us.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We have a plan.\u00a0 That unpacking Thursday, he\u2019s keeping the kids away all day until the unpacking is done.\u00a0 They\u2019ll be hanging out by the pool at the hotel while I boss the movers around.\u00a0 It\u2019s better that way, trust me.\u00a0 The kids don\u2019t need to be anywhere near that chaos, and I get bossy when I\u2019m stressed\u2026..perfect!<\/p>\n
That first weekend, our new neighborhood is throwing a pool party!\u00a0 They say it\u2019s for Memorial Day, but that\u2019s just because they don\u2019t want other people to get jealous that they\u2019re throwing this big to do for us.\u00a0 It\u2019s right friendly of them to collect all the children together in one place to make our friend selection a little easier.\u00a0 We can see who\u2019s nice and who\u2019s a bully all at once.\u00a0 (Who has a smart\/potty mouth, who\u2019s disrespectful\u2026.it\u2019s a great time to weed through the neighborhood.)<\/p>\n
So that\u2019s the timeline\u2026.7 days we\u2019re packed, 8 we\u2019re out of this house, 10 we\u2019re sleeping under our new roof.\u00a0 Holy cow.\u00a0 I can\u2019t believe that after all this time we\u2019re down to the single digits\u2026.I\u2019m excited and want to throw up all at the same time\u2026.but the puke part could be pregnancy\u2026so I\u2019ll just go with excited.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
