At one point, a joke was made about the retiree\u2019s dad sending one of his grandchildren to get him a beer.\u00a0 The listeners were clearly shocked, not just that he sent a child but that he was drinking at all.\u00a0 His daughter-in-law quipped in a self-satisfied way, \u201cWell, you know he\u2019s Catholic, they\u2019re drinking real wine for Communion when we\u2019re sipping our grape juice.\u201d<\/p>\n

My neighbor leaned over to me and whispered, \u201cI don\u2019t know about you, but I\u2019m drinking the Precious Blood.\u201d\u00a0 Amen, sister.<\/p>\n

Audio books were the sanity of last week\u2019s Texas trip. People keep asking how I did it, and that\u2019s the simple answer.\u00a0 Percy Jackson and the Olympians kept my children quiet and listening for the entire drive down and most of the drive back.\u00a0 It was a 10 hour drive one way (thanks to construction.)\u00a0 Going on a drive?\u00a0 I highly recommend them.<\/p>\n

My Lenten prayer buddy is killing me slowly.\u00a0 She writes these beautiful heart-rending posts and then ends them with \u201cAre you out there Prayer Buddy?\u00a0 I really need help with this.\u201d <\/p>\n

It\u2019s all I can do not to reply \u201cI\u2019m here!\u00a0 I\u2019m praying!\u00a0 I\u2019m taking you with me to daily Mass, and offering it up for you.\u201d\u00a0 She doesn\u2019t take anonymous comments or I\u2019d have left one the very first week.\u00a0 Would it be wrong to drive to her house and just hug her?\u00a0 Or do you think that would weird her out too much?<\/p>\n

Oh, and to my prayer buddy\u2026.could you please pray that we sell the house?\u00a0 It\u2019s shown twice in three months.\u00a0 I\u2019m trying so hard to trust God, but our deadline is fast approaching and patience has never been a strength for me.\u00a0 Thanks.<\/p>\n
