The Computer Guy and I went out to dinner tonight.\u00a0 It was a relaxed evening in a casual restaurant.\u00a0 We talked a little, ate a little, and just caught up on what we\u2019re doing these days.\u00a0 (It\u2019s been busy around here.)<\/p>\n
As we walked out of the restaurant and headed toward the car, I slipped my hand into the crook of his elbow.\u00a0 The moment my hand brushed his bicep, he flexed.\u00a0 HE FLEXED!\u00a0 How cool is that?\u00a0 15 years of marriage and 8 children (2 saints, 6 in training) later and he still wants to impress me. I smiled to myself as his muscle tightened beneath my hand.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
In a world of passing fancies and one night stands, I\u2019m still the girl he\u2019s wooing.\u00a0 I once thought that romance was hearts and flowers in a kind of perpetual Valentine\u2019s Day.\u00a0 18 years together and I\u2019ve learned that it\u2019s so much more.\u00a0 It\u2019s that he still wants me to think of him as my big, strong hero.\u00a0 He still wants to be 10 feet tall and bulletproof in my eyes.\u00a0 That\u2019s romance to me.\u00a0 It\u2019s a bit silly, but that flexing bicep was the most romantic thing I\u2019ve seen all week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
