We have an Oma who has introduced my children to the tradition of St Nicholas\u2019s Day.\u00a0 Every year on December 5th they carefully write their letters and tuck them into their shoes.\u00a0 Then they cross their fingers and hope.\u00a0 They know that this is the last warning bad children get before Christmas.\u00a0 St Nick takes their letters and good children get chocolate\u2026.bad children get rocks.<\/p>\n
I look forward to reading these letters every year.\u00a0 (I have 9 years\u2019 worth of letters tucked away in a box in my room.)\u00a0 It\u2019s fun to look back at the things that they dreamed of when they were small and compare those simple letters with the funny notes they leave as they get older.\u00a0 Here\u2019s what #1 wrote the old guy:<\/p>\n
\n<\/div>\nDear Mr Claus,<\/div>\nI regret to inform you that I can not say that I have not set anything on fire or blown anything up.\u00a0 Fortunately, no one was hurt when these things took place.<\/div>\n<\/div>\nInstead of boring you with tales of the good deeds I have done, I\u2019ll skip right to the point.\u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\nI would like an itunes gift card and a Daisy Exchange gift card, but you know that already.\u00a0 I would also like a colorful, interesting assortment of accessories from Icing.\u00a0 I\u2019ve heard that Assassin\u2019s Creed 2 is good, and that it comes for the Wii, so I would like that.\u00a0 If there is a Call of Duty for the Wii, I would like it as well.<\/div>\n<\/div>\nIf you could get (#2) a nintendo gamecube controller for the Wii, along with the Zelda game he NEVER shuts up about, that would be wonderful.\u00a0 What we really need is an XBox, but I have a feeling that it\u2019s not happening anytime soon. So instead, I\u2019d like interestingly colored duct tape (the Duck tape brand), a knife, a Nerf gun, and some chocolate.<\/div>\n<\/div>\nI hope that was helpful, because I despise writing letters of any sort.\u00a0 Which is my way of saying \u201cI\u2019m done now.\u201d<\/div>\n<\/div>\nDON\u2019T FORGET TO GO BUY CANDY\u2026.and some more oranges\u2026\u2026\u2026please?<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\u2013 The Eldest and most perfect Frech child.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
