Last week, the City of Philadelphia announced its intention to begin taxing<\/a> bloggers $300.\u00a0 Instead of curbing their spending habits and cutting back as regular folks have to do, they find one of the few freedoms left to us as Americans, freedom of speech and expression, declare it a small business and assess a tax.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter if the bloggers have ever made a profit or not.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shame on you, Philadelphia City Council!\u00a0 Blogging is the last bastion of sanity of the stay at home mom, the bored office guy, the computer nerd and the unemployed.\u00a0 You have raised taxes to the point that entertainment is an unattainable luxury.\u00a0 Your confiscatory tax policies are driving jobs out of your town and taking all the money with them.\u00a0 Instead of correcting your errors, you are trying to take the only thing your citizens have left.\u00a0 You can pass the laws, but they will not silence an unhappy populace.\u00a0 You can have their keyboards, but you have to go and get them!<\/p>\n

Philadelphia, I\u2019m giving you the finger!\u00a0 Shame on you all!<\/p>\n
