Death sucks.\u00a0 There, I said it.\u00a0 I\u2019ll say it again gladly: death sucks.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This morning, I found out that some friends of mine lost one of their twins in the womb.\u00a0 And while there is hope in Christ and comfort through Him, it does not remove this inevitable fact: death sucks.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Several years ago, my wife and I lost our first baby shortly after finding out that he was on the way.\u00a0 I never saw him, never held him.\u00a0 He never had a name.\u00a0 I\u2019m not even sure that he was a \u201che\u201d.\u00a0 Death sucks.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I wish there was a silver lining to this post, but if the Psalmists can have down days, I think it is okay to just be sad sometimes.\u00a0 Of course, the Psalmists always ended their lamentations with expressions of hope or trust in God.\u00a0 God will make it right.\u00a0 God will heal.\u00a0 God will restore.\u00a0 God will comfort.\u00a0 I will wait on Him.<\/div>\n

It\u2019s been several years since I lost my child, and the pain does not ever seem to go away entirely.\u00a0 And I will never forget that child.\u00a0 But as the years have gone by, God has comforted me.\u00a0 And I pray He will do the same for you.<\/div>\n

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. <\/span><\/div>\n
