I know that other women raise sons, lots of sons, without any daughters to break up the sea of blue.\u00a0 I\u2019m not those moms.\u00a0 I like girls.\u00a0 I like pink.\u00a0 With whom shall I watch TV and make snarky comments about wardrobe issues?\u00a0 This is beginning to look like a long two weeks.<\/p>\n

My sons and their father have already begun speaking of movie marathons, fishing expeditions, and something or other about Star Wars.\u00a0 I don\u2019t speak this language, and to be truly honest, I\u2019m not sure I want to become fluent.\u00a0 They have their father; I have the girls. We enjoy each other, but when it comes time to relax\u2026.light saber duels just aren\u2019t my cup of tea.\u00a0 Tea parties\u2026that\u2019s my cup of tea, maybe because it actually has tea.<\/p>\n

The house is already a bit different without their calming presence.\u00a0 It\u2019s louder somehow, despite having fewer people in it.\u00a0 It will all be fine.\u00a0 I know it will.\u00a0 But if you see me out somewhere hiding in the bushes, wearing camo, and muttering about elaborate plans to take back the universe from the rebel scum\u2026.I\u2019m either learning to enjoy playing with the boys, or I\u2019m in desperate need of a makeover.\u00a0 Bring shoes just in case.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
