Either this is spiritual warfare, or God is just messing with me.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s how today has gone for me:
1. I pulled out some old math workbooks for #3.\u00a0 He\u2019s finished his book for this year, but his shrink says he\u2019s way remedial.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to believe her, so we try to do last year\u2019s work.\u00a0 He can\u2019t do it.\u00a0 I realize that I\u2019ve been over-helping and all the work we\u2019ve done this year has accomplished nothing more than me re-learning 2nd grade math.\u00a0 I don\u2019t even have words to describe the heartbreak.\u00a0 We\u2019re considering public school for him next year.\u00a0 I no longer know what to even try to help him.\u00a0 <\/p>\n
2. While fighting tears of frustration over the math thing, I get an e-mail from the RE director at our parish reminding me that the stupid felt banners for First Communion are due this weekend.\u00a0 I thought we had another week.\u00a0 Somehow, #3 and I managed to slap together a respectable banner. (I used to be clever and creative.\u00a0 Now I just hate arts and crafts)<\/p>\n
3. I realized that the stupid banner hanging was at the same time as my irl friend Peace\u2019s Baptism for her 7th baby.\u00a0\u00a0 I cried when I told her we wouldn\u2019t be there.\u00a0 (She\u2019s a good friend.\u00a0 She cried with me over #3 and told me to not worry about the Baptism.)<\/p>\n
4. I got a call from the bank.\u00a0 My check card took a vacation to California without me.\u00a0 I hope it had a good time as it racked up $2500 in charges.\u00a0 (Over $400 to a liquor store!!!!\u00a0 I could at least get an invite to the party.)<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0 While I was on the phone with the bank, #5 threw up in the entry way.\u00a0 You can\u2019t eat Easter candy without unwrapping it first.\u00a0 Who knew?\u00a0 (I\u2019m tired of bodily fluids.\u00a0 Really tired.)<\/p>\n
6. As I mopped the floor and took towels to the laundry, #6 fell down the stairs.\u00a0 He\u2019s fine.\u00a0 He only rolled down two, got a bonk on his head, and scared us both pretty good.\u00a0 But, are you kidding me?\u00a0 (Yes, we have baby gates, but they don\u2019t fit\u00a0 these old style stairs.)<\/p>\n
7. I gave up inside the house and went outside to mow the lawn.\u00a0 I like to do it.\u00a0 It\u2019s something I can do that actually lasts a while.\u00a0 I reached down to pull the cord and it came away in my hand. (I\u2019ve had it with this day)<\/p>\n
8. I came inside and curled up in a chair because reading is safe, isn\u2019t it?\u00a0 A dumb bird flew into the window and knocked itself loopy.\u00a0 My daughter\u2019s dog at it.\u00a0 (I laughed out loud as I cried.\u00a0 Is that evil?)<\/p>\n
