Angel Studios and Wonder Project have released a new trailer for \u201cYoung Washington,\u201d a historical war epic that chronicles the formative years of George Washington before he became the nation\u2019s first president.<\/p>\n

The film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release over Independence Day weekend 2026, aligning with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.<\/p>\n

Jon Erwin, the director of hits such as \u201cJesus Revolution,\u201d \u201cI Can Only Imagine\u201d and the recent series \u201cHouse of David,\u201d helms the project. William Franklyn-Miller, a rising British actor known for roles in \u201cMedici,\u201d \u201cArrow\u201d and \u201cFour Kids and It,\u201d stars as the young George Washington, portraying the surveyor-turned-soldier whose early mistakes and battlefield experiences helped ignite the French and Indian War.<\/p>\n

The ensemble cast features an array of acclaimed performers. Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley (\u201cGandhi,\u201d \u201cSchindler\u2019s List\u201d) appears as Robert Dinwiddie. Golden Globe winners Kelsey Grammer (\u201cFrasier,\u201d \u201cJesus Revolution\u201d) and Mary-Louise Parker (\u201cWeeds,\u201d \u201cFried Green Tomatoes\u201d) round out key supporting roles, alongside Golden Globe nominee Andy Serkis (known for his motion-capture work in \u201cThe Lord of the Rings\u201d and \u201cPlanet of the Apes\u201d franchises) and Joel Smallbone of the Grammy-winning duo for KING + COUNTRY, who also starred in faith-based films such as \u201cUnsung Hero.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through sweeping visuals and intense storytelling, \u201cYoung Washington\u201d delivers an intimate portrait of the man behind the legend during the high-stakes moments that shaped America\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

The project marks the first feature collaboration between Angel Studios and Wonder Project. It arrives as Angel continues its momentum with recent releases including the animated musical epic \u201cDavid: An Animated Musical,\u201d which tells the biblical story of the shepherd who became king and is now streaming on the Angel platform, and the romantic comedy \u201cSolo Mio,\u201d starring Kevin James in a heartfelt tale of second chances.<\/p>\n
