I had not heard of the peer-reviewed online journal First Monday<\/a><\/em> before today, and want to share these two articles in the latest issue<\/a> that a colleague brought to my attention, while it is still the first Monday in August and there is a nice double meaning to the title of this blog entry.<\/p>\n

First, there is an article by Sara Kjellberg\u00a0about scholars, blogging and productivity<\/a>. It suggests that blogging can provide motivation and stimulate creativity for researchers. Of course, some of us already suspected that\u2026<\/p>\n

Second, there is an article by David Wiley and John Hilton on free online textbooks<\/a>, which connects with the current discussion of open source textbooks.<\/p>\n
