{"id":1069,"date":"2010-08-02T15:09:00","date_gmt":"2010-08-02T15:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2010\/08\/first-monday-articles-on-blogging-and-open-source-textbooks\/"},"modified":"2010-08-02T15:09:00","modified_gmt":"2010-08-02T15:09:00","slug":"first-monday-articles-on-blogging-and-open-source-textbooks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/religionprof\/2010\/08\/first-monday-articles-on-blogging-and-open-source-textbooks.html","title":{"rendered":"First Monday Articles on Blogging and Open Source Textbooks"},"content":{"rendered":"<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><head><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><meta http-equiv=\"content-type\" content=\"text\/html; charset=utf-8\"><\/head><body><p>I had not heard of the peer-reviewed online journal <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uic.edu\/htbin\/cgiwrap\/bin\/ojs\/index.php\/fm\/index\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">First Monday<\/a><\/em> before today, and want to share these two articles in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uic.edu\/htbin\/cgiwrap\/bin\/ojs\/index.php\/fm\/issue\/view\/317\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">latest issue<\/a> that a colleague brought to my attention, while it is still the first Monday in August and there is a nice double meaning to the title of this blog entry.<\/p>\n<p>First, there is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uic.edu\/htbin\/cgiwrap\/bin\/ojs\/index.php\/fm\/article\/view\/2962\/2580\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">an article by Sara Kjellberg\u00a0about scholars, blogging and productivity<\/a>. It suggests that blogging can provide motivation and stimulate creativity for researchers. Of course, some of us already suspected that\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Second, there is an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uic.edu\/htbin\/cgiwrap\/bin\/ojs\/index.php\/fm\/article\/view\/2800\/2578\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">article by David Wiley and John Hilton on free online textbooks<\/a>, which connects with the current discussion of open source textbooks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7622297540113836091-6451848821535940193?l=exploringourmatrix.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had not heard of the peer-reviewed online journal First Monday before today, and want to share these two articles in the latest issue that a colleague brought to my attention, while it is still the first Monday in August and there is a nice double meaning to the title of this blog entry.
