Out of curiosity as to where the 2012 International Meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature might be held, I typed \u201cSBL International 2012\u201d into a search engine.<\/p>\n

This quickly led me to a site<\/a> which informed me that \u201cAccording to the SBL project director, the extra functions of SBL include \u201cdefending\/attacking anti-space-based fights (i.e., anti-satellite missions); \u201cpreventing enemy use of space (such as destroying enemy launching); preventing information input\/output of satellites (likely to use low-energy beams to jam satellites rather than directly destroying them); \u201cdefending\/attacking anti-space fights\u201d and \u201cstriking high-altitude planes, cruise missiles and unmanned aircraft\u201d. Although the efficiency of SBL is uncertain, the adverse current of space weaponization has appeared.\u201d<\/p>\n

It seems like there are indeed interesting things planned for 2012 involving SBL! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
